Finding resources to learn the materials

There are a lot of resources available to help you learn and pass your ham exams. Some folks already have the knowledge to pass the tests, but the rest of us will probably need to do some studying. People are different — some might learn best from attending an in-person or online class, others might best learn from studying written materials and some might need something else.

MIRO is pleased to be affiliated with David Okrent, W7DAO@arrl.net. David will be offering a Technician licensing class, Friday, Jan. 6, 2023: 6pm – 9pm, Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023: 9am – 4pm and Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023: 9am – 3:30pm to be held at the American Red Cross chapter building in Seattle, just over the I-90 bridge, 1900 25th Ave. S, Seattle, WA 98144 (plenty of free, on-site parking). David will also be offering a General Class on Feb 10-12, 2023. Check out David’s flyer: https://miro.cmivolunteers.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Flyer-Tech-class-Jan-2023.pdf

There is absolutely no requirement to take any licensing class — how you learn the materials to pass the various license exams is completely up to you.
